Ingredient Transparency

1. Our Commitment to Transparency

mimūn believes that customers have the right to know exactly what they are applying to their skin. We publish the complete ingredient list for every product using INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) naming conventions, in descending order of concentration — consistent with the requirements of EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, which we apply voluntarily as our formulation standard.

2. INCI Naming

INCI names are standardised international identifiers for cosmetic ingredients. They are often derived from Latin botanical names or systematic chemical nomenclature. For each ingredient in our formulations, we provide both the INCI name and a plain-language common name to help you understand what you are applying.

3. Allergen Disclosure

EU Cosmetics Regulation requires the declaration of 26 fragrance allergens above specified concentration thresholds. mimūn voluntarily discloses all regulated allergens in its ingredient lists, applying this standard to all products regardless of the customer's location. Customers with known fragrance allergies are encouraged to review ingredient lists carefully before purchase and to perform a patch test before use.

The presence of a regulated allergen does not mean that a product will cause a reaction in all individuals. Sensitivity to specific compounds varies significantly between people.

4. Natural Ingredients and Sensitisation

mimūn formulations contain natural essential oils, plant extracts, and botanical ingredients. Natural origin does not guarantee hypoallergenic properties. Many naturally derived compounds — including those found in rose, jasmine, sandalwood, and citrus oils — are classified as potential allergens. We disclose all such ingredients in full.

5. Ingredient Sourcing

Where possible, mimūn sources ingredients from suppliers who share our commitment to responsible and sustainable practices. Our formulations draw on a tradition of North African botanical knowledge, with key ingredients sourced from Tunisia and the surrounding region.
