Clean Beauty Disclaimer

1. Our Definition of "Clean"

At mimūn, we use the term "clean" to describe products formulated without a defined set of ingredients we have chosen to exclude based on our own standards. Specifically, mimūn products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, synthetic musks, mineral oil, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, and sulphates. Our full ingredient lists are published for every product.

2. No Universal Regulatory Standard

The term "clean beauty" is not defined or regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the EU, or any other regulatory body. There is no universally agreed industry standard for what constitutes a "clean" cosmetic product. Our use of this term reflects our internal formulation philosophy only.

3. EU Safety Standards Applied Voluntarily

mimūn voluntarily formulates and tests its products to the standards of EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, which we regard as the most rigorous cosmetic safety framework currently in use globally. This includes independent safety assessment, full ingredient disclosure using INCI nomenclature, and allergen declaration above regulated thresholds. This voluntary compliance does not make mimūn subject to EU regulatory enforcement.

4. "Natural" Does Not Mean "Safe for Everyone"

mimūn products contain natural and botanical ingredients, including essential oils and plant extracts. Natural origin does not guarantee hypoallergenic properties. Many naturally derived compounds — including those found in rose, jasmine, sandalwood, and citrus oils — are classified as potential allergens under EU cosmetics regulation. We disclose all such ingredients in full.

5. We Do Not Use the Term "Chemical-Free"

mimūn does not claim that its products are "chemical-free." All matter, including water and natural plant extracts, is composed of chemicals. We instead describe specifically what our products do and do not contain.

6. Transparency Commitment

We are committed to full ingredient transparency. Every mimūn product displays its complete INCI ingredient list. We encourage customers to review this list carefully, particularly if they have known sensitivities or allergies. Questions about specific ingredients can be directed to [email protected].
